Farm House Brewery Luppolajo is an Italian craft microbrewery that produces premium beers with  malt grown in its own fields. The brewery has a focus on sustainability, utilizing renewable energy  sources and environmentally friendly production methods. 

Challenge 

The brewery's 600-litre manually operated brewing system had to be upgraded to a larger, semi automated facility due to growing demand in the market. Objectives were to increase production  capacity, improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs and introduce automation with remote  monitoring. 

Solution 

The brewery was designed & installed by INOXPA and is a fully integrated brewing system capable of  producing 2,500 litres per batch and up to 5,000 litres per day. The solution consisted of: 

  • Automated brewhouse 2,500-litre batch size 
  • Steam Condensation Energy Recovery System 
  • Automated water management & hot water recovery 
  • Automated malt mill and loading system 
  • Five new temperature-controlled fermentation tanks 
  • Remote monitoring and control in Industry 4.0 and 5.0 

Results & Benefits  

  • Production capacity was increased fourfold without additional shifts. 
  • Certified energy savings over 15% 
  • Lower Operating Costs and Environmental Impact

Conclusions 

Farm House Brewery has been able to increase its production, while also improving its sustainability,  energy efficiency and operational reliability. The project shows that growth doesn't have to be at the  expense of environmental responsibility when using modern brewing technology.
