Automated Wine Transfer & Product Recovery Process Solution for Process Optimization
Project Overview
A family-owned wine bottling company from the Beaujolais wine district in France sought to automate its wine transfer processes for expansion while increasing efficiency, hygiene and product recovery.
The old process had to be replaced by an optimized process that would facilitate safe transfer of wine from tanks or tanker trucks while reducing product losses and protecting wine product quality.
The new process also had to integrate smoothly with the existing Clean-In-Place (CIP) process system.
The Challenge
With increased production needs, the winery required a more efficient and automated wine transfer process that could:

The INOXPA Solution
INOXPA offered and supplied an automatic wine transfer system that included hygienic pumping, automation and product recovery technologies.
Three separate transfer lines were included in the design so as to be able to conduct operations either independently or jointly as per production demands.
SilPig product recovery system was used to recover any leftover wine from the pipeline, minimizing losses and increasing efficiency.

Product Recovery with Sanitary Pigging
The one more important feature of the installation is its product recovery system.
There is always some amount of product remaining in the pipelines after the wine transfer by pumping. The sanitary pigging system allows recovering this product before the cleaning process starts.
This feature is especially useful for wineries, where the value of product, process and hygiene are essential.
